Powered by an external single 5V at 3A supply, the unit is based on a VIA Eden ULV 500MHz CPU.
Called the EPS-500 has 500Mbyte of DDR2 RAM on board; the on board video supports 2D and 3D graphics up to 1920x1440 and has a MPEG4 and WMV9 decoding accelerator. This will make it suitable for use as the engine in graphics-heavy applications such as POS kiosks and display managers.
It can also be used in protocol converters and machine controllers. All popular operating systems, including XP Professional, will run on the device.
Three USB 2.0 ports, a Compact Flash slot and a 10/100 Base-T networking port are provided as standard; 2 x RS-232 COM ports and a mini PCI socket are optionally available, as are an EIDE interface for an internal 2.5in. HDD and WiFi networking capability.
