Bel Stewart Connector has announced that all single-port, multi-port passive and MagJack Modular connectors are available in the new EPP (Environmentally Protected Product) range.
The EPP-918A material prevents corrosion from harsh environmental conditions and makes the products suitable for industrial Ethernet networks, marine environments, warehouse applications, comms equipment and security systems.
According to Jeff Biss, product manager for passive connectors at Bel Stewart: "On having our Jacks independently tested using our new EPP-918A material, the results showed that as well as passing all the harsh environment tests, we also witnessed increased contact durability with our connectors. This basically means that where the industry standard is 750 mating cycles, our connectors with EPP applied performed to over 2,500 cycles."
