The E-T-A 8345 series of single and multi-pole combined toggle switches and magnetic circuit breakers is available from Aerco with a current rating from 0.1A to 125A at up to 240ac or 110Vdc.

Suitable for rack, panel or plug-in mounting in telecommunication equipment, the rail industry, heavy-duty vehicles and other applications where a high degree of protection is required in a small package, these magnetic circuit breakers operate quicker than thermal units and are less sensitive to changes in ambient temperature.

Magnetic/hydraulic versions are available that have a slower reaction time and are therefore less susceptible to transient current variations.

According to the supplier, it is the combination of switch and circuit breaker which will save on installation time as well as board space.

A separate trip coil enables the main contacts to be opened by a remote sensor or logic control circuit such as the E-T-A X8345-R remote, motor driven ON/OFF actuator that can be operated by a suitable external change-over switch.

Fully approved to UL489, UL1077 and EN 60934 standards, the type 8345 also carries VDE, UL, CSA and CE approvals. Different mounting methods, toggle colours and water-splash covers are available.
