Harting’s Micro Card Edge connector is designed for surface mounting on 1.6mm thick printed circuit boards in board-to-board mezzanine configurations as well as in small pluggable daughterboard applications.

A feature of the connector in mezzanine applications is that it enables stable spacing between parallel boards to be achieved in configurations where small boards of different lengths are plugged between the connectors.

The connector allows data transfer rates of up to 14Gbit/s, and is available with 40 or 100 contacts in 0.8mm pitch.

The manufacturer has also used a special surface finish to ensure low insertion forces and a high contact reliability.
