Low cost miniature 1-3 Watt DC/DC converter series extends to over 2000 models. Four output power versions are available, 1W, 1.5W, 2W and 3W.
XP Power has announced new additions to its I series of low power isolated DC/DC converters.
The series, now comprising of 11 families, offer a range of industry standard mounting options including SIP, DIP and DIP24 with single and dual outputs, and now with either regulated or unregulated outputs.
Four output power versions are available, 1W, 1.5W, 2W and 3W.
The converters' size, as small as 11.68 x 6.1 x 9.65 mm (0.46 x 0.24 x 0.38 inches) for the 1 W models, occupies very little PCB space and allows designers to reduce the size of their end products. The standard pin out configurations make the units an ideal low cost drop-in replacement part, without any need for PCB redesign. All models provide either 1,000 VDC or 3,000 VDC input to output isolation for a period of up to 1 minute, depending on the family. The IH and IN series also has 4,000, 5,200 and 6,000 VDC isolation options available.
Input voltages covering the nominal values of 3.3, 5, 12, 24 or 48 VDC +/- 10% are available, with the IW and IU series offering a wide 2:1 input range, accepting 4.5-9, 9-18, 18-36 or 36-72 VDC.
Single and dual output models are offered. The single output voltages are 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 or 24 VDC. Dual outputs provide +/-3.3, +/-5, +/-9, +/-12, +/-15 or +/- 24 VDC.
All units, with the exception of the IS, operate on full power from -40 degrees C to + 85 degrees C without derating. The IS model is rated from -25 degrees C to + 85 degrees C, with derating above +70 degrees C. All models are able to operate in most environments without the need for additional heat sinking or forced airflow.
With an MTBF in excess of 1 million hours, the I series is an extremely reliable product that will help ensure extended lifetime in the customer's end products.
