Just announced by Vectron International, is a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator in a package just half the size of its predecessor.
The VTM3 TCXO offers equivalent phase noise performance to the existing VTC4 and VTC1 TCXOs but in a smaller package measuring just 3.2x2.5mm.
Available from Aspen Electronics, with a specified with a phase noise floor of -155dBc/Hz, the VTM3 operates over an extended temperature range of -30 to 80 deg C with a frequency stability of better than 0.5ppm.
The VTM3 is available at frequencies from 8MHz to 45MHz, with a clipped sign wave output and optional VCXO function. The device is available with 2.8, 3.0 or 3.3Vdc supply voltage, and power consumption can be as low as 1mA.
The TCXO is designed for use in a wide range of wireless RF applications, including GPS circuits for in-car navigation, pilot locator and security/tracking systems, WLAN, WiMAX and WiFi base stations, Bluetooth modules, digital cameras, RFID devices, test equipment and wireless meter readers. A voltage controlled version is also available, typically incorporated into a PLL, or where the output frequency needs fine tune adjustments.
