SiTel Semiconductor has introduced its first single-chip DECT / CAT-iq solution.

An integrated DECT/DCT design in standard CMOS, the SC14480 is based on the Gen2DSP core which provides enough processing power to run telephone answering machine voice compression, advanced ring-tones and support the superior voice quality of the CAT-iq standard.

It can operate directly from two battery cells and includes an integrated white LED driver to support higher voltages, reducing external component costs. Li-Ion battery support also makes the chip suitable for headset applications.

It is also designed to enable text-to-speech services and complete Midi functionality including 32 voices, wave table and FM synthesis.
