Maxim MAX4999 differential Hi-Speed USB analogue multiplexer
Wednesday 23 July 2008
Maxim's differential 8:1 multiplexer for Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0) applications switches between eight USB hosts and a single peripheral at data rates up to 480Mbit/s.
The MAX4999 features 6.5ohm (typ) on-resistance and 3pF (typ) on-capacitance. Additionally, an integrated charge pump improves performance by allowing signal levels greater than the supply voltage.
To minimise power consumption, the device's enable input can be driven low to place the device in standby mode, thus shutting off the charge pump. In addition, the enable pins of two MAX4999s can be connected together to form a 16:1 multiplexer, while still supporting Hi-Speed USB data rates.
The MAX4999 operates from a single 3.3V supply, and is fully specified over the -40 to 85ºC extended temperature range.
