Micronas has introduced a motion estimation/compensation frame-rate converter which will support Full HD 1080p resolution on LCD TVs. 

Micronas claims to have addressed the inherent weaknesses of LCD displays which are motion-blur and film-judder.

The frame-rate converter drives LCD panels directly through the LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signalling) interface and electrical noise is reduced by the use of spread-spectrum clocks throughout the IC.

The FRC-Q is sampling and production starts in the fourth quarter of 2008.
