The EPC-4853 from BVM is the latest low power embedded PCs for use in embedded applications, such as simple kiosks, POS terminals and machine control, where raw processing power is less important than low noise, long term reliability and low power requirements.
The EPC-4853 is based on a VIA Esther 1.2GHz processor, it supports up to 1Gbyte of system memory and will run the XP or Linux o/s. Dual 10/100MHz LAN ports are provided, as are 2 x USB 2.0 ports, a Compact Flash slot and an EIDE interface; optional internal HDD or Mini PCI socket are also available.
The boot ROM supports PXE boot and wake-on-LAN remote boot. The integrated VIA UniChrome 2D/3D graphics with integral MPEG4/WMV9 decode accelerator supports screens up to 1920 x1440 and the VIA Vinyl VT1708 integrated audio provides line out and mic in capability.
