Texas Instruments has introduced a 16-bit, single-channel analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) with a 200Msample/s data sampling rate.
The ADS5485 has a specified signal-to-noise ratio of 75dBFS and a spurious-free dynamic range of 87dBc for a 70MHz input frequency (IF). It also has an on-chip differential input buffer.
Developed in TI's BiCom3 process technology, the device will, for example, support 16-bit resolution with up to 100MHz bandwidth for high-speed digitisers.
Design support tools include the CDCE72010 low-jitter clock available in an evaluation module and TI's TSW1200 digital capture tool for evaluation of ADCs of up to 16-bit resolution and 500MSPS sample rates.
