NEC Pasolink NEO iP is a high capacity, highly intelligent, compact microwave and multi-service switching communications system.
NEC’s has added the Pasolink NEO iP to the Pasolink ultra-compact microwave communications system to bring new levels of throughput and traffic engineering intelligence to backhaul transmission, and to help customers to transform their networks to scalable and cost effective hybrid and all-IP backhaul systems.
The Pasolink NEO series offers advanced, feature-rich functionality required for the transport of 2G, 3G, HSPA, WiMax and LTE traffic from radio access base stations to base station control systems. The Pasolink iP features advanced QoS capabilities, enabling backhaul revenue streams with SLA level bandwidth management.
Designed to cater for aggregation and packet transformation needs, as well as future LTE topology switching and protection requirements, the NEO iP provides more than 1 Gbps of transmission capacity, native Ethernet framing, multi-service aggregation, PWE3 (Pseudo Wire Emulation Edge to Edge), traffic engineering features, MPLS switching, network synchronization functions, as well as GbE ring protection.
Mobile backhaul is undergoing two major transformations; the introduction of HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) is increasing data transmission, and networks are transitioning to IP to cost effectively transport the growing volume of data. The Pasolink NEO series enables mobile network operators seeking to optimize the delivery and use of mobile backhaul systems to efficiently provide consumers with high capacity data services at a lower overall cost.
