Lorlin Electronics is offering an IP65 sealed version the CK series of rotary switches, manufactured from UL VO compliant fire retardant material.

Aimed at harsh and outdoor environments, the single-wafer CKS family is made in UK. The moulded body is 27.5mm in diameter with 30 º spindle indexing (60 or 90 º to special order) and may be specified with either solder or printed circuit board terminals.

Up to four poles are available per switch with a maximum 12 positions - with shorting (make before break - 30 º indexing only) or non-shorting (break before make) gold flashed or gold plated contacts. An adjustable stop is provided to restrict the number of positions in use.

Other special order options are continuous spindle rotation, reinforcement ring and a fixed stop. Spindles may be specified with special flats, slots or knurls.

No bush and rear drive versions are also available, as is sealed PCB termination. The CKS rotary switch family is rated at 150mA 250V ac/dc, with an expected life of over 10,000 cycles.

Operating temperature is -30 to 85º C and its initial proof voltage is 1,500Vac. Typical applications include: portable equipment used outside such as marine, test and measurement, remote controls for vehicles.

Specific applications to date include rugged torches and shipboard automatic course steering.
