Linear Technology LT8410/-1 low noise micro power boost converters have integrated power switches, Schottky diode, catch diode, and output disconnect circuitry.
The chips require 8.5µA quiescent, reducing to a claimed "0µA" in shutdown. Integrated 12.4MΩ; and 0.4MΩ; output feedback divider resistors regulate a 16V output without a load using less than 30µA quiescent current.
Switch current limits (25mA for LT8410 and 8mA for LT8410-1) enable the converters to operate from high impedance sources such as coin cell batteries without inrush current limitations.
Input range is 2.6 to 16V, allowing both single cell Li-Ion and fixed 12V operation - delivering up to 40V.
Output voltage can be adjusted dynamically by driving the FBP pin with an external voltage source.
The 8410 can deliver over 8mA at 16V from a single Li-Ion cell, and both parts use a control technique that delivers efficiencies as high as 88% and under 10mV[pk-pk] ripple "over a wide load current range", said Linear.
Other features include integrated soft-start and overvoltage protection. Packaging is 2x2mm DFN.
