Trident is offering a 5” VGA display from Hitachi, featuring an LED backlight to provide lower power consumption and a longer life than traditional backlight technologies with the same performance.
The Hitachi TX13D03VM1CAA 5” VGA TFT display module from Trident offers a brightness of 600cd/m2, excellent display uniformity and a contrast ratio of 400:1. The key innovation is the use of an LED backlight in a 5” display, delivering bright, clear images in all lighting conditions and environments.
The LED backlight matches the performance of traditional CCFL backlight technologies, but is more robust, uses less power, is easier to control and lasts longer, (70,000 hours) while also dispensing with the need for a high voltage inverter.
The TX13D03 has further features to simplify design in, including a built in timing controller and on board LED backlight and dimming controller. There is also an image flip function which allows a display image to be flipped horizontally and vertically. The 6-bit RGB CMOS data interface allows images with up to 262K colours to be displayed. The 5” display is also available with a touch panel as an optional feature.
The display module measures a compact 119.4mm (w) x 89.1mm (h) x 10.0mm (d) and weighs only 114g. The TX13D03 also supports operation in extended temperature environments of -20ºC to +70ºC.
