Tektronix has introduced low noise oscilloscopes in its DPO70000 range of 4GHz to 20GHz scopes.
The scopes have improved low noise performance, frequency response flatness and a greater effective number of bits (ENOB). Vertical noise performance has improved over previous models by 1dB to 2dB for all vertical settings.
Aimed at the testing of high speed serial data bus systems, the DPO/DSA70000B series scopes provide hardware-based real-time serial pattern triggering up to 5Gbit/s for NRZ and 8b/10b serial streams.
“The hardware trigger capability captures the first occurrence of a specified bit sequence on a data bus,” said the company.
At the top end the 20GHz DSA72004B provides 5th harmonic measurements on signals running up to 8Gbit/s and 3rd harmonic measurements for data rates up to 12Gbit/s. As with previous models in the range the capture rate is specified at greater than 300,000 waveforms per second.
To support the scopes, the P7500 TriMode range of probes now covers frequency ranges of 4, 6, and 8GHz in addition to the previously available probes at 13, 16 and 20GHz.
Prices begin at £30,900 for the 4GHz DPO70404B.
