Microtune has introduced a TV tuner for cars travelling at up to 125mph, claiming it to be the first for fast vehicles.
“MT2067 is a world-standard, automotive-grade TV tuner engineered to provide stable TV reception for passengers in vehicles travelling at top speeds along the autobahn or highway,” said Microtune. “It enables automakers to improve performance when adding real-time broadcast TV to rear-seat entertainment.”
The 7x7mm dual-conversion chip supports RF from 48 to 862MHz with an integrated LNA and supports analogue and digital terrestrial standards including: NTSC, PAL, SECAM, DVB-T, DVB-H, ISDB-T, DTMB, ATSC and ATSC-M/H.
“As with our recently announced MT1119 antenna amplifier, the MT2067 is part of a new portfolio of highly integrated RF silicon technology products targeted for the automotive market,” said Microtune president and CEO James Fontaine.
