Trident has introduced the wide temperature PFM-541I PC/104 CPU module from Aaeon to its range of embedded systems. This new generation SBC offers a rugged system to transportation, aviation, offshore and petrochemical applications.
The PFM-541I has been designed to perform in harsh environments. Aaeon’s Wide Temperature Assurance Service (WiTAS) ensures availability of the board with a choice of two wide temperature ranges. WiTAS I ensures an operating temperature from –25ºC to 70ºC whereas WiTAS II allows operation through demanding temperatures from –40ºC to 80ºC.
The industry standard PC/104 form factor CPU module contains components selected by Aaeon for their ability to operate at wide temperature ranges rather than the traditional method of testing boards outside of their intended operating specification.
Based around the 500MHz AMD Geode LX800 processor and supported by an AMD CS5536 companion chip, the PFM-541I is supplied with 256Mbytes of onboard DDR333 system memory. Storage needs are met with the inclusion of both IDE and CompactFlash interfaces.
Offering 2x 10/100Base-T Ethernet ports as well as 4x USB2.0, 4x COM ports (of which 1 is RS-232/422/485 compliant) and PC/104 expansion, the PFM-541I fulfills extensive connectivity and further expansion criteria.
