Future Electronics (EMEA) Dart Starter Kit is an evaluation kit for engineers who want to prototype touch sensing or proximity sensing designs.

The kit includes a compact board which features a CY8C21434 PSoC device from Cypress Semiconductor, a slider control, indicator LEDs and a buzzer, and a USB interface for connecting to a PC. Future supplies fully-featured versions of Cypress' PSoC Designer development tools as part of the kit.

Cypress' 'CapSense' capacitive sensing technology, running on its PSoC family of controller ICs, is used to implement touch sensing and proximity sensing in industrial and consumer electronics applications.

Demonstration CapSense programmes are pre-loaded for touch sensing and proximity sensing designs on the Dart kit. Users can study and modify these demonstrations, or use the development tools to build their own designs.

The Dart kit can also be used as a platform for developing other mixed-signal applications running on the CY8C21434 PSoC IC. Spare I/O pins are brought out on a connector, allowing designers to use the PSoC's programmable blocks to implement a wide range of signal conditioning, conversion and controller functions.

The Dart Starter Kit is available immediately and is free to all qualifying enquirers in Europe.
