Infineon Technologies is offering free tool chains for its latest 8-bit and 16-bit flash microcontrollers.
The microcontrollers include the 8-bit XC864 and XC886 HOT, the 16-bit series XE162M, XE164M and XE167M. There is also two new 32-bit MCUs the TC1167 and TC1197.
The PK51 developments tools from the tool provider Keil are available for the XC800 family, and the Tasking C Compiler from Altium with EDE, simulator and debugger are available for the XE166 family.
Infineon has received the VDE certification for the 8-bit family XC800 which grants the functional safety requirements for home appliances under EN/IEC60335-1 Class B standard.
The XC864 series combines in a small footprint TSSOP-20 package a standard 8051 core with on-chip flash memory of up to 4kyte. There is also an on-chip voltage regulator, supporting single voltage supply of 3.3V or 5.0V.
The XC886 HOT is a high temperature MCU, which comes with 24Kbyte or 32Kbyte of flash memory, 10-bit ADC with a conversion time of less than 1.5μs.
