Avago Technologies is offering a low-noise, high gain and high linearity balanced amplifier module for use in tower mounted amplifiers, low-noise amplifier (LNA) modules and cellular basestation applications.

The ALM-1522 is designed for the 800MHz/900MHz cellular bands such as GSM, CDMA, UMTS and next generation Long Term Evolution (LTE) applications that operate in the 700MHz band.

According to the supplier, the device’s low noise figure and high linearity performance, which helps to improve the sensitivity and dynamic range of receivers, is achieved through the use of a proprietary 0.25[micro]m GaAs Enhancement-mode pHEMT process.

The chip is housed in a 5x6x1mm surface mount Molded Chip on Board package.
