Austriamicrosystems, in partnership with IE Technology (IET) has released the IET RU-210u, mid range up to 2.5m, fixed UHF RFID reader, with USB and serial interface.

The AS3990/91 "Simply Gen 2" is a single chip, EPC Class 1 Gen 2 UHF Reader IC which includes an EPC Class 1 Gen 2 protocol engine and is available with an integrated PA to further reduce the bill of materials.

The AS3990/91 has programmable features based on 32 registers to enable full RF, filtering and protocol control.

The RU-210u UHF RFID reader, with USB interface is likely to find application in logistics, manufacturing and retail applications.

The AS3990/91 is available in QFN 64 9x9 mm package and is specified for 0 to 70° C.
