Trident is offering a 6.5” VGA TFT display from Hitachi. The TX17D01VM2CAA features a low power white LED backlight to provide a high brightness of 600cd/m².

The lifetime of the LED backlight is specified as 70K hours which exceeds the standard lifetime of most industrial CCFL backlight systems. LED backlit displays offer sustainable benefits over older technology, like power consumption, lighter weight, low noise, slim design and wider adjustable luminance range.

The TX17D01VM2CAA is designed to satisfy the requirements of a broad range of industrial applications, such as test and measuring equipment, medical equipment and portable handheld computing devices, utilising the latest LED backlighting technology.

Hitachi’s 6.5” display module has the dimensions of 153.0mm (w) x 118.0mm (h) x 9.0mm (d) and an industry standard 18-bit RGB CMOS interface providing support for up to 262K colours.

These two key features enable the display to offer mechanical and electrical compatibility with other industry standard 6.5” VGA display modules.

A touchpanel version of the display will also be available to support a wide range of embedded industrial systems. This is expected to be released later in the year.
