The latest harsh environment connectors from Deutsch is a composite version of its DTS-RJ45 connector for Ethernet applications.

The connectors ruggedise standard and screened CAT5/5E/6 plugs making them suitable for applications such as military vehicles, naval/shipboard, railway, radars and field data systems.

The composite version is designed to offer superior corrosion resistance over its aluminium counterpart with over 2,000 hours salt spray and provides a weight saving of over 30%, said the supplier.

The high current connectors house a combination of signal (-20) and power contacts (-4) including 60A, 150A and 300A options.

The Quadrax Ethernet/AFDX connectors house up to 8 contacts each transmitting up to 100Mbit/s and feature a similar ground plane design to the DTS-RJ45 providing these connectors with the optimum technical performance in their class.
