FCI on stand H48 at Electronics Weekly Live will include the DensiShield copper I/O connector which it says has demonstrated 10Gbit/s per channel differential performance using common wire gauges in cable lengths up to 10m.

The existing DensiShield system supplies 4-channel capability and consequently delivers an aggregate bandwidth of 40Gbit/s.

The 10Gbit/s per channel differential performance was achieved at 6m or less by utilising 30 AWG cable, at 8m or less by utilising 28 AWG cable and 10m or less by utilising 26 AWG cable.

The connector has demonstrated performance meeting both the 10GBase-CX4 Ethernet and Infiniband industry standards. It will also accommodate card slot pitch as low as 15mm and achieve a port-to-port centreline of 12.5mm along a card edge.
