Maxim Integrated Products has introduced a DOCSIS 3.0 upstream amplifier that combines low power consumption with optimal distortion performance.

This device consumes 1.25W when configured for 31dB of gain and +64dBmVout. It consumes 25mW in transmit-disabled mode, while achieving a low, 10dB noise figure and 60dBc of harmonic distortion.

The MAX3518 operates from a single 5.0V supply that connects to a single pin on the device.

The MAX3518 is fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius extended temperature range, and is available in a 5mm x 5mm, 20-pin TQFN package.
