Maxim Integrated Products is offering low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators that operate from a 1.425V to 3.6V input voltage and deliver up to 1A (MAX15027/MAX15028) or 500mA (MAX15029/MAX15030) of output current.
Two devices, the MAX15028/MAX15030, feature a bias input that allows the devices to be powered from an independent supply, making them suitable for always-on power supplies in automotive applications. The bias input allows the regulator's input to reduce current to 2µA (max) during shutdown.
The LDO regulators can dissipate up to 1.9W at +70 deg C.
The ICs offer ±2% accuracy over line, load, and temperature, as well as a dropout voltage as low as 75mV (MAX15027/MAX15028) or 40mV (MAX15029/MAX15030) under a full load.
Other features include a capacitor-adjustable soft-start input, an enable input, and an adjustable feedback input to set the output voltage from 0.5V to 3.3V.
