Servo & Electronic Sales are able to supply Souriau's range of 38999 series III connectors, plated with RoHS-compliant black Zinc Nickel.
This plating finish is an RoHS-compliant alternative to cadmium. Cadmium has been the most commonly used finish for MIL-DTL-38999 series III connectors for aeronautic and military applications for many years.
RoHS directives now restrict its use and promote more environmentally friendly solutions.
In the MIL-DTL 38999 series III range, Souriau has industrialised the zinc nickel plating process, which has already been used for many years in other markets.
Zinc Nickel can withstand temperatures between -65 and 200 deg C, and the protection conforms to ASTM standard B841 in terms of salt spray resistance up to 500 hours, far exceeding any other RoHS-compliant finish.
