AVX is offering the suppression of transients and EMI filtering in one device with the expansion of its Transguard multilayer varistor series.

The 0201 bi-directional transient voltage suppressor is designed for low insertion loss, said the supplier.

Initial Transguard 0201 MLV availability includes 15pF and 33pF capacitance devices with a 5.6V rating.

These products are able to withstand 1,000 strikes at 8kV and feature a response time of under 1ns. The devices have a leakage current of less than 5µA at rated voltage.
