Bourns is offering a version of National Semiconductor’s Webench Designer customised for its inductor customers on its website.

It is a design and prototyping tool for power supplies, DC-DC converters and LED drivers. It allows designers to fine-tune switching power supply and LED driver designs.

The new toolset can be used for device selection allowing customers to locate the required switching regulator and inductor products for their power supply and LED applications.

The selection is made against parameters such as input voltage, the desired output voltage and current. The parametric values cover a range including:  inductance from 0.1uH to 15000uH, DCR’s from 2mohm to 168ohm and current rating from 20mA up to 46A.
