Sanken's inverter power modules for motor control are available from Solid State Supplies.
The SCM1110MF inverter power module (IPM) consists of the necessary power elements needed to configure the main circuit of an inverter as a high-side drive power supply, states Solid State Supplies: six IGBTs, three pre-drive ICs and six flyback diodes, as well as a bootstrap circuit (three bootstrap diodes and three boot resistors).
This enables the main circuit of the inverter to be configured with fewer external components than traditional designs, it says.
"The SCM1110MF provides a robust, highly-integrated solution for controlling 3-phase motor power inverter systems and variable speed control systems used to drive motors in air conditioning systems, refrigerators, washing machines and other household appliances. Its proprietary DIP package features an exposed thermal pad for efficient heat dissipation."
"The SCM1110MF is designed to minimise simultaneous current through both high- and low-side IGBTs by optimising gate drive resistors. It also features: UVLO protection with auto restart, overcurrent protection with off-time period adjustable by an external capacitor, and fault (FO indicator) signal output at protection activation (UVLO (low side only), OCP, and STP)."
Input voltage is 85 to 253 VAC with 15A (continuous) output current, states the company, and the device can withstand voltages up to 600V.
