Bourns has expanded its TISP thyristor surge protector product line to include some -low capacitance models designed for VDSL2 applications.
The TISP4P015L1N, TISP4P020L1N, TISP4P025L1N and TISP4P035L1N thyristor surge protectors are designed with a new lower capacitance process as an optimal circuit protection solution for ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL and VDSL2 applications from overvoltages caused by lightning and AC line disturbances.
The new devices can also be used for T1/E1 driver protection, in customer premise and central office locations and in any transformer-coupled interface, which leaves the building.
The devices are symmetrical, two-terminal thyristor-crowbar devices that can be deployed to protect from line to ground or between the differential driver conductor pair.
When placed between the xDSL line driver IC and the transformer, the devices will clamp and switch into an ultra-low impedance state, safely diverting the energy and protecting sensitive equipment from dangerous overvoltage or line disturbance threats that can result in system failure.
