ITT Interconnect Solutions is supporting CFast, the small form factor removable storage standard to be released from the Compact Flash Association (CFA).

It is characterised by a line of two-piece ultrasonic weld cover sets and 24 way connectors.

A plastic frame is melded around the perimeter of the cover and orientated into position with guide posts, which simplifies assembly. Once assembled the covers are ultrasonically welded together in a continuous weld joint around the perimeter of the card.

The surface mount connectors are rated at 1.5A per pin and designed to exhibit no discontinuity greater than 100ns.
Total mating force is 28.8N maximum at 25mm/minute; total unmating force is 3.7N minimum, 24.5N maximum at 25mm/minute; and durability is 10,000 mating cycles.
