The VM series of low TC solid alloy element current sensing resistors from Rhopoint is available in four different models in the series ranging from 0805 size through to 2512 which corresponds to power ratings of 0.5W through to 3W.

Resistance values range from 5mW to 2W and available tolerances range from 0.5% to 5%.

The low TC of 20ppm/°C, in the temperature range of 20 °C to 60 °C, is achieved with the use of Zeranin as the resistance element material.

The material has the very low thermal EMF against copper of 1mV / °C, an often overlooked error in low ohm resistors, leading to minimal self heating errors.

The full operating temperature range of the series is –40°C to +170 °C and long term stability is typically 0.3% under maximum load.
