RF Micro Devices GaN power doubler has 21dB gain

RF Micro Devices has introduced a gallium nitride-based hybrid power doubler amplifier, designed for CATV infrastructure, supplies a minimum gain of 21dB over the 45-1003MHz frequency range.
In an industry-standard SOT115J package, the RFPD2650 delivers maximum current of 450mA, and current consumption can be reduced dramatically to less than 370mA for applications requiring reduced distortion performance.
Power doublers are used in hybrid fibre-coaxial (HFC) networks to extend the range of signal transmission from the head-end to the consumer.
