Texas Instruments has added a number of MSP430 microcontrollers, designated MSP430G2xx2 which include integrated capacitive touch I/O.

There are also new package and memory options.

Memory now ranges up to 8kbyte flash and 256byte RAM.

Package options include 20-pin TSSOP and PDIP.

The MCUs have standby power of 0.4µA and a wake-up time of less than 1µs.

Also included are 10-bit ADCs, UART, comparator and serial communications.
