Keithley Instruments has extended its range of high power SourceMeters which can provide current pulses up to 50A, but with an accuracy of 1pA.
With this benchtop or rack mounted instrument there is an IVI-based LabVIEW driver which allows it to be integrated into virtual instrument test sequences.
A likely application for the 2651A SourceMeter is in the characterisation and design of high brightness LEDs.
It can also be used for power semiconductors, DC-DC converters, batteries and other high power modules and subassemblies.
It is a four-quadrant voltage and current source/load coupled with precision voltage and current meters.
The new instrument can source or sink up to 2,000W of pulsed power (±40V, ±50A) or 200W of DC power (±10V@+/-20A, 20V @ +/-10A. ±40V@ +/-5A).
It can also make precise measurements of signals as low as 1pA and 100µV at speeds up to 1µs per reading.
The instrument also has two independent analogue-to-digital (A/D) converters - one for current and the other for voltage measurements, which run simultaneously for accurate source read back.
