National Semiconductor has introduced a range of ICs for use in the design of photovoltaic (PV) systems.
Called SolarMagic, the range of devices includes a full-bridge gate driver to a micropower voltage regulator.
For distributed PV power optimisation applications providing maximum power point tracking (MPPT), the SM72441 and SM72442 programmable MPPT controllers feature voltage and current diagnostics, integrated four switch buck-boost converter control, overvoltage/overcurrent protection and an I2C interface.
For microinverters and charge controllers there are the SM72295 full-bridge and SM72482 dual 5A compound gate drivers.
National is also offering the SM72485 switching regulator with constant-on-time technology that enables an operating range up to 100V at high conversion efficiency.
There is the SM72240 supervisory reset circuit and the SM72375 dual micropower rail-to-rail input CMOS comparator.
