IAR Systems is offering a plug-in to Eclipse for Renesas RL78 development tools.

This plug-in includes the optimizing IAR C/C++ Compiler, Assembler and Linker, as well as all needed C/C++ libraries. It also supports parsing of error messages and option settings from within Eclipse.

“Many customers that have been using 78K and R8C devices are now looking at the RL78 family. With our tools already available they can start developing now regardless of what IDE they choose,” said Thomas Winkler, director European sales at IAR Systems.

Evaluation versions of IAR Embedded Workbench and the eclipse plug-in for RL78 are available for download.
