Memory maker Apacer has introduced two solid-state drives for industrial computers.
Called SAFD 25M3 (2.5in.) and SAFD 18S3 (1.8in.), they have single-level cell flash memory for reduced error rate, and a built-in 7+15pin SATA connector.
Maximum capacity is 16Gbyte, they can operate from -40 to 85°C, and sequential read speed is 115Mbyte/s, with write up to 90Mbyte/s.
Applications are expected directly embedded in industrial tablet PCs and rugged mobile devices.
The JEDEC MO-297-compliant SAFD 18S3 has screw holes on both sides for motherboard mounting in vibrating environments.
“To enhance the lifespan, the two drives are compatible with the Windows 7 TRIM command for optimisation,” said the firm.
