Texas Instruments has introduced a synchronous 50mA, 60V step-down regulator which integrates both the high-side and low-side power mosfets.

The TPS54062 converter can withstand high-voltage transients up to 65V, while maintaining high efficiency across the load.

For higher voltage transient protection at 50mA, there is also the TPS7A4001 50mA, 100V LDO, which a settling time of less than 500ns for a 50V transient event.

Operating temperature range is -40° to 150°C, efficiency 90% at 24Vin, 5Vout at 150 kHz.

The TPS54062 can be synchronised to a clock via fixed frequency.

The chip has 89µA operating current with a shutdown current of only 1.7µA.

Switching frequency range is 100 to 400kHz and the device is available in an 8-pin, 3x5mm MSOP PowerPad package.
