Hittite Microwave has introduced two surface mount MMIC 5-bit digital attenuators for automotive, microwave radio and test equipment operating up to a frequency of 33GHz.
The HMC939LP4E is a wideband GaAs attenuator with an insertion loss of 4dB, and it can be programmed to provide up to 31dB attenuation in 1.0 dB steps.
The HMC941LP4E attenuator can be programmed to provide up to 15.5dB attenuation in 0.5dB steps.
Both devices have an attenuation accuracy of ± 0.3 dB and fast switching speed of 90ns. They accept positive control voltages of 0/+3V or 0/+5V.
They exhibit high input IP3 performance of up to +45dBm, allowing them to be used in various locations within a microwave or millimetre wave transceiver.
The HMC939LP4E and the HMC941LP4E are housed in RoHS compliant, 4x4mm QFN packages.
