Schurter says the opening of its electronic component production facility in the Czech Republic was an essential part of its European expansion plans.

The key element is the proximity to the Eastern European market of the Czech plant in Železný Brod. The new plant has been in operation since mid-December 2016.

Managing director Jaroslav Marx, writes:

“The relocation of the production facilities went according to schedule and excellent results have already been achieved in the production area. We now have sufficient production space at our disposal to be able to react quickly to fluctuating market requirements”.

Initially, the firm transferred to the Czech plant parts of the production from its HQ facility in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Lucerne is where the main part of the research and development department is located.

The relocation of production was part of a strategy to bundle well-established production processes in the Czech Republic.

“The aim of this strategy is to optimise production flows, save logistics costs and eliminate deviations in production,” said Marx.
