When ARM exec got his hands on an ARM-powered netbook

When ARM executives got their hands on some of the first ARM processor-based netbooks available they were understandably excited.

As many as 15 netbooks (engineeering samples) were distributed amongst ARM executives last year.

Bob Morris, director of mobile computing at ARM, descriobed his first impressions in his blog. http://tinyurl.com/matrdx

Bob’s was a 10.1-inch netbook with an 800MHz Cortex-A8 processor.

He got 4.5 hours life on a two cell battery with”screen at full brightness and Wi-Fi on”.

Fair to say he was impressed.

  1. Year 2010 belongs to ARM, I have no doubt about the statement I made, 15 new combinations of Netbooks / Smartbook and Mobile Internet Device (MID). ARM has come a long way from just being a company powering mobile phones, to now powering absolutely every consumer products from you fridge to washing machine and not to mention you Smart Phones and now Netbooks and possibly your Desktop PC soon.
