A new board layout has improved the RF performance of the Wi-Fi element.
The processor company has also come up with a 3D printable enclosure. This will be available to makers as source files available from the firm’s website.
There are also new software additions:
- FlowCloud is an IoT API designed by Imagination to connect devices to the cloud; it already runs on other MIPS-based dev boards, including the chipKIT Wi-FIRE from Digilent. We will be showing a live demo of FlowCloud running on Creator CI20 at Maker Faire but we’ve also included an overview of the setup in the blog article.
- For Android 4.4, we’ve made several improvements including audio over HDMI and Bluetooth; new built-in Ethernet settings; audio jack auto-detection (easily switch audio output from HDMI to headphones and vice versa); and audio recording. Support for USB storage is also coming soon.
- For Linux, we are working on updating to kernel version 3.18 which will offer a boost in vital performance areas such as memory speed and graphics.
The boards will be available for pre-order from Imagination’s online store.
