Advanced Netpilot flies for Equiinet
Alex Mayhew-Smith Bob Jones has said his fledgling Internet and e-mail router company Equiinet is already set to launch a more powerful version of its Netpilot system. The more advanced system will be aimed at larger firms, said Jones. “There will be new features to our product unveiled in June. The current Netpilot is aimed at the 5- to 50-person sized firms… but we have found that some larger organisations want the system.” The firm is also looking at piggy-backing voice over Internet Protocol on its Netpilot system, said Jones. The Netpilot is the data equivalent of a telephone switch, providing e-mail and Internet access to businesses. Equiinet was launched recently by entrepreneur Bob Jones and has already sold over 1,000 of its Netpilot products. Jones has already disclosed his plans to set up Equiinet offices in four other European countries. He also plans to float the business on the stock exchange in three to four year’s time.
