Airbag safety in question
Richard Ball Government experts are to probe whether airbags in cars can be a danger to drivers following an inquest of a women who died in a car crash. The coroner expressed concern about whether the airbag’s inflation contributed to her death. Now the Department of Environment Transport and the Regions is calling for a transcript of the inquest and the coroner’s findings. A spokeswoman said: “We shall pass these on to our in-house experts at the Transport Research Laboratory in Berkshire and here in London. “They will examine what was said and the issues and will then report back on whether they think there is a problem that needs further investigation or action.”
