Citing strong sales of powerful G3 microprocessor based systems, Apple Computer reported strong profits, marking the second consecutive quarter of profitability.
The company is officially on the comeback trial, after reporting second fiscal quarter profits more than twice the estimates of Wall Street analysts.
Net income was $55m compared with a loss of $708m for the same quarter one year ago. However, revenues decreased to $1.41bn compared with $1.58bn for the second quarter of 1997. Apple pointed out that its second fiscal quarter is traditionally its weakest quarter.
