Banned director numbers treble
Alex Mayhew-Smith The number of company directors banned from running a business has trebled in the last four years, according to the National Audit Office (NAO). The number of directors being disqualified rose to 1,267 last year. The increase is partly due to an improvement in ensuring that company directors are banned. The NAO also said each failed firm with an unfit director costs creditors about ?150,000.
