Berg Electronics has strengthened its European hand by acquiring Glasgow-based Kinloch Group for an undisclosed sum. Kinloch, which employs 340 people across three facilities in the Glasgow area, specialises in wire harnessing and cabling products used in the telecoms, datacomms and automotive industries.
“It’s all very positive,” commented Dominic McKay, who has been named managing director of Kinloch Electronics which will operate as a division of Berg Electronics. “We are greatly encouraged by Berg’s vision, its strong leadership position in the electronic connector industry and particularly the view it has of Kinloch’s future.”
McKay anticipates investment for expansion will be made available. The deal is Berg’s second big European acquisition in a year. Early last year it bought Ericsson Telecom AB’s connector operation in Sweden.
